Amy: Pop, jazz. Don't you care about musical history ?

Mary: No, not really. Should we ?

Amy: I think so. The past is important. We should know about it.

Mary: Fine. Jazz goes all the way back to the early 20th century.

Amy: Musical history didn't begin in the 1900s, Mary. It goes back many hundreds of years.

Mary : So, Amy, what style of music do you think we should perform ?

Amy : I think we should have more classical pieces.

Mary : Oh, come on, Amy ! We need to catch young people's interest. That's hard to do with classical music.

Amy : That's because young people don't realize how great classical music is. We have to educate them.

Mary : Do we ? I'd be happy if we could just entertain and inspire them. Pop is the best style for that.

Tina : Ok, stop ! Musical taste isn't a question of " right and wrong. " You can't blame people for liking what they like. You know,taste in music is a lot like taste in food. We can't say some people are " wrong " because we enjoy pizza and they don't.

Cindy: Yes, that's right. Some people like one thing, and some people like another. We don't always agree, but that's OK. We can still respect each other's choices.
